An interesting article by Elina Hiltunen and Aki-Mauri Huhtinen: Science fiction in military planning—Case allied command transformation and visions of warfare 2036¹.

Authors review a number of simple but often overlooked ideas about science fiction:

• What is science fiction?
• The relationship of Science fiction and future studies
• Why to use science fiction in organizations

Then they show those simple ideas in action with six examples of reports/books by military or defence organizations which have used science fiction to imagine war’s future over the last 20 years:

All of them can be downloaded and read for free.

I would say this is not an approach you will find in most organizations. Let’s admit we are a species / society with clear (military) priorities.
