A new extensive report (62 pages) has been published by the “Tsargrad” Institute: “Russia 2050. Image of the future.”
The world order is changing rapidly. The exhausted unipolar world led by the United States is being replaced by a new polycentric world. Affecting all of humanity, this epochal process is accompanied by inevitable economic crises, social upheavals and wars.
We have entered an era of great changes.
The text proposes(*) a national idea centered on Russia as a unique civilization with a special mission from God, acting as a “Katekhon” or restrainer against global evil and chaos. Key elements of this vision include a powerful, autocratic state, the importance of Orthodoxy, a focus on family and high birth rates (including financial incentives for larger families and restrictions on abortion), and a shift in spatial development towards individual housing outside large cities. The report also emphasizes the need for a scientific and technological breakthrough and a new, sovereign migration policy based on organized recruitment of foreign labour, rather than unrestricted entry.

Having endowed our country with a special mission, God gave us everything for its fulfillment. Russia is the largest country in the world. Its territory spans eleven time zones, occupying an eighth of the Earth’s land. Our country accounts for about 20% of the world’s natural resource reserves. Russia holds the first place in reserves of fresh water, as well as in territories free from signs of human activity.
The depths of our country contain practically all known types of minerals. Russia ranks first in reserves of natural gas, iron ores, and diamonds, second in coal reserves, fourth in uranium reserves, and fifth in oil reserves. In 2024, the total value of Russia’s natural wealth was estimated at $100 trillion, which is almost twice the corresponding figure in the USA.
Our country’s population is one of the most educated in the world. Russia is a space and nuclear power. It has one of the strongest armies in the world. It possesses the largest arsenal of nuclear weapons.
Throughout its centuries-old history, Russia has repeatedly made colossal leaps in development. This was the case under Ivan the Terrible, Peter I, Catherine II, Alexander III, Nicholas II, and Joseph Stalin.
Russia possesses all the resources to make such a leap today. A leap into its future, into the 21st century.
This is “the image of the future” outlined in Chapter 14:
- The population of Russia exceeds 160 million people.
- Russia is a uniformly populated and developed low-rise country
- By 2030, the problem of uncontrolled and illegal migration was completely solved.
- Russia is among the top five countries in terms of robotization.
- the country is developing dynamically on the basis of new “five-year (development) plans”
- By the early 2030s, a new economy was built in the country. It is of a planned market nature, developing on the basis of state centralized planning, as well as strict state control over money circulation.
- Russia has a sovereign monetary system
- The state directs financial resources to the creation and development of the most promising sectors of the economy, as well as to the cultivation of global champion companies
- The main drivers of accelerated economic growth from 2025 to 2050 were the state programs “Reindustrialization of Russia” and “Own Home”.
- The development of new technologies is the basis for the socio-economic development of Russia.
- On April 12, 2050, a flight to Mars took place, marking the beginning of the exploration of the Red Planet.
- Russia is a superpower, the leading center of a multipolar world.
- Russia is a sovereign power pursuing a truly independent domestic and foreign policy.
- Russia has built an effective system of public administration, ensured by a unitary structure and a rigid vertical of executive power.
- Russia acts as a defender of world Orthodoxy. The See of the Ecumenical Patriarch is located in Moscow, and the Russian Orthodox Church is the first in world Orthodoxy.
- Russia is a state of refuge (“Russian Ark”) for 20 million compatriots, as well as 10 million immigrants.
And this the closing paragraph (postcriptum):
The long 20th century is coming to an end. Having gone through the crucible of world wars and colossal internal cataclysms, we have become stronger and wiser. We remember who we are, where we come from and where we are going. Like many generations of our ancestors, we are ready to serve Russia faithfully and truly, fulfilling the mission entrusted to us by God. We see the tasks facing our country and know how to solve them. Therefore, we look confidently to tomorrow and believe in the future of our Fatherland. We see Russia in the 21st century as great and indestructible. Exactly as God intended it to be.
